Prince Avenue Christian School is a ministry of Prince Avenue Baptist Church. All PACS Board members are active members of PABC and may serve up to six years of continuous service.

Brian Elrod - Chair
Brian Elrod earned a Bachelor of Arts in apologetics from Luther Rice Bible College. He currently serves as Principal and Broker at NAI Elrod Group in Athens, Georgia—a real estate firm specializing in commercial leasing and sales, investment transactions, and commercial development. Mr. Elrod and his wife, Kim, have four children: two are current students at Prince Avenue Christian School, and two are alumni from the Classes of 2022 and 2023. He served on the Prince Board of Trustees from 2016 to 2022, including a term as Chairman from 2018 to 2020.

Ashley Barnett - Vice Chair
Ashley Barnett graduated from Georgia Southern University (GSU) where she earned a degree in public relations and a minor in speech communications. While at GSU, Mrs. Barnett was assistant director of public relations and promotions for WVGS The Buzz Statesboro radio station, publicist for Society of America, a member of Southern Image, and a Student Government Association Senator. She was also the president of Kappa Delta Sorority where she received awards for Outstanding Leadership and Sister of the Year. Mrs. Barnett went on to serve as the director of marketing and public relations and media relations for Washington-Wilkes County, Georgia. She is currently a stay-at-home mom and volunteers at the family business, Barnett Southern Corporation. Mrs. Barnett is married to Ames, and they have three children—one a Prince Avenue Christian School graduate (Class of 2025) and two who are currently enrolled. She began her service on the Prince Board of Trustees in 2022.

Karin Usry - Secretary
Karin Usry serves as the director of board relations at the University of Georgia Foundation. She earned a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Georgia, where she was a member of two NCAA Championship gymnastics teams in 1998 and 1999. Mrs. Usry holds the distinction of being the first collegiate gymnast to score a perfect 40.0 in all-around competition. She is married to Mike, and they have two children who attend Prince Avenue Christian School. Mrs. Usry began her service on the Prince Board of Trustees in 2021.

Jan Barham
Dr. Jan Barham is the associate dean of students and director of the Tate Student Center at the University of Georgia. She also serves as graduate faculty in the College of Education, teaching courses at both the master’s and doctoral levels. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Dr. Barham earned her Bachelor of Science in communication sciences before completing a Master of Science in human development and psychological counseling at Appalachian State University. She later received her Ph.D. in student affairs administration from the University of Georgia. Dr. Barham and her husband, Ed, have two daughters, one a current Prince student and the other a 2025 graduate. Dr. Barham began her work with the Prince Board of Trustees in 2018.

Kendall Cook
Kendall Cook currently serves as the chief financial officer of ActiveKidz & Adult Therapy. He earned a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Florida in 1994, where he also played as a kicker for the Gators before going on to a professional career in the National Football League. Mr. Cook brings strengths in team building, sales management, and strategic planning to his leadership roles. He is married to Susan, and they have two daughters, both graduates of Prince Avenue Christian School (Classes of 2019 and 2022). Mr. Cook began his service on the Prince Board of Trustees in 2025.

Mark Gray
Dr. Mark Gray is a practitioner in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics with 23 years of experience. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, College of Dental Medicine, in 2001 and is a board-certified member of the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Gray is married to Lauren, and they have three children, two of whom attend Prince. Dr. Gray began his service on the Prince Board of Trustees in 2025.

Billy Henderson
Billy Henderson is a graduate of Georgia Southern University and serves as the sales representative for Thomas Concrete in Athens, one of the Southeast’s leading suppliers of high-quality ready-mixed concrete. He and his wife, Terri, have two children—one a current Prince student and the other a 2019 graduate. Mr. Henderson joined the Prince Board of Trustees in 2022.

Stephanie Powell
Stephanie Powell is a University of Georgia (UGA) graduate with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, a master’s degree in educational psychology, and a specialist degree in educational leadership. Mrs. Powell is currently the vice president of Organizational Development at Joe Powell and Associates, Inc. and previously served as a teacher and assistant principal with Gwinnett County Public Schools. Deeply connected to her alma mater, Mrs. Powell serves on the advisory board for her sorority at UGA and has contributed in numerous volunteer roles, including the UGA Alumni Association Board of Directors and Executive Committee, the College of Education Alumni Board, and the Redcoat Band Alumni Association. Mrs. Powell is married to Chad, and they have three children, all of whom are graduates of Prince (Classes of 2024 and 2025). She began her service on the Prince Board of Trustees in 2022.

DeAnn Harmon-Smith
Dr. DeAnn Harmon-Smith is a licensed family general dentist who has been in private practice since 1999. She graduated magna cum laude with a degree in chemistry from North Georgia College and earned her Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree with honors from the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Smith and her husband, Jeff, have three children—two Prince graduates (Classes of 2023 and 2025) and one currently enrolled. She has served on the Prince Board of Trustees since 2020.

Joe Taylor
Joe Taylor holds an Applied Behavior Analysis degree from Middle Georgia College and a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Georgia. He is the managing director and founding partner of The Avenue Wealth Management Group, where he also serves as a senior wealth advisor. Mr. Taylor and his wife, Hayley, have two children who graduated from Prince (Classes of 2016 and 2018). He began his service on the Prince Board of Trustees since 1999.

Will Thompson
Will Thompson is a partner at the law firm of James Bates Brannan & Groover. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism. He went on to earn his law degree from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law and an advanced law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Mr. Thompson’s work has been published in multiple journals and publications. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the State Bar of Georgia, Emerging Leaders in Forestry, and the Kappa Alpha Order. He and his wife, Amelia, have three children who all attend Prince. Mr. Thompson began his service on the Prince Board of Trustees in 2025.

Kevin Turner
Kevin Turner received a bachelor’s degree in family and consumer sciences/consumer economics from the University of Georgia and a master of business administration degree from Augusta State University. He is currently the operations program manager for Viasat Global Communications. Mr. Turner and his wife, Brandy, have three daughters who all attend Prince. He began his service on the Prince Board of Trustees in 2022.

Thomas Wells
Dr. Thomas Wells graduated from Georgia College and State University with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a minor in chemistry and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Wells has worked as an internist since 1997 at Hawthorne Medical Associates and most recently at Piedmont Hawthorne. Dr. Wells and his wife, Amy, have four children—three Prince graduates (Classes of 2016, 2018, and 2021) and one currently enrolled. He began his service on the Prince Board of Trustees since 2012.

Andrew Womack
Andrew Womack earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education teaching and coaching from Arkansas State University and a Master of Education degree in educational leadership and administration from Trevecca Nazarene University. He previously served as assistant principal of Tipton-Rosemark Academy, a private Christian school in Millington, Tennessee, from 2012 to 2018. Since 2018, Mr. Womack has been the owner of Womack Allstate Insurance Agency in Athens, Georgia. Mr. Womack and his wife, Morgan, have three children who all attend Prince. He began his service on the Prince Board of Trustees in 2024.
