Earth Science is an amazing journey that allows students to know God better through the study of His creation. In this course, God’s creative design will be evident as students explore geology, hydrology, meteorology, and astronomy. As we move from the dust of the ground to the water on, above, and below the earth, to the air we breathe, and to the vastness of the universe, students will develop an appreciation for the enormity and beauty of God’s creation. Inquiry-based labs will allow students to explore and develop critical thinking skills in these areas. All the information in this course will be taught from the Christian’s worldview with God as the Creator.

Life Science is an amazing journey that allows students to know God better through the study of His creation. This Life Science course will expand upon previous learning and set the foundation for science in high school. In this course, God’s creative design will be evident as students explore taxonomy (classification), cellular biology, molecular biology, the tissues and structures of plants and animals, cellular respiration, photosynthesis, and the systems of the human body. Inquiry-based labs will allow students to develop critical thinking skills. All the information in this course will be taught from the Christian’s worldview with God as the Creator.

Middle School Physical Science serves as an introduction to and covers broad aspects of chemistry and physics at the mid-grade level. Students will learn to articulate the relationship between the Christian worldview and the interpretation of scientific evidence in the broad fields of chemistry and physics. Within the chemistry component (approximately 2/3 of the course), students will learn properties of matter, measurement and calculations, atomic structure, the periodic table, chemical formulas, chemical reactions, chemical equations, stoichiometry (calculating the amounts of substances in a reaction), kinetic theory, gas laws, properties of solutions, acids and bases, reaction energy, chemical equilibrium, nuclear chemistry, basic organic compounds, and real-life applications of chemistry including household chemicals, fuels, nuclear energy, environmental protection, and some aspects of biochemistry. In the physics component (approximately 1/3 of the course), students will explore Newtonian motion, force, work, power, energy, simple machines, mechanical advantage, energy (potential, kinetic, and resources), and introductory waves physics. Through inquiry-based labs, students will practice science processes and expand their critical thinking skills.

Eighth-grade Georgia History is designed to introduce the basic flow, events, and personalities throughout our state’s past. Students will investigate how God providentially reserved America and the Georgia colony for Christian settlement for His purposes of building a Christian-based nation that would send its missionaries to evangelize a spiritually dark world. This study will begin in the early 1000s with early cultures that may have encountered the areas in and around Georgia, and it will continue through the modern age. Various methods and teaching strategies will be used during this course. Students will be encouraged to think critically about the Godly foundations established in the United States and God’s preservation of our nation and state through many domestic and international conflicts.
