All middle and high school students (6th-12th grades) must pay a technology fee of $350 per school year. Lower school students are charged a fee of $100 per year. The fee will be charged in monthly installments on the student’s FACTS account.
Technology Fee Information
The technology fee covers a portion of the device cost as well as the infrastructure to support group and individualized learning. Some of those costs include:
Software & Licenses – Specialized educational platforms such as Seesaw and DyKnow along with Microsoft 365.
Accessibility – Increased network and internet bandwidth, wireless access points throughout the buildings, and campus monitoring/filtering
Support Personnel – Ability to troubleshoot issues, resolve device repairs, and issue temporary devices when needed to limit the disruption of learning
A student who has an issue with his or her device should bring it to the IT Support Team. The team will diagnose the problem and repair the device if possible or issue the student a loaner device and send the damaged unit back to the factory for repair or replacement.
We have a warranty against hardware failure and an insurance policy against accidental breakage for each device. If the issue is determined to be a hardware failure, there is no charge. If the damage is accidental, there is an insurance policy deductible like on your homeowner or auto policy. The costs of repairs or replacement are listed below. The policy does not cover theft or loss.
- Broken or damaged Surface $135
- Broken or damaged keyboard $80
- Broken or damaged pen $80
- Broken or damaged charger$32
- Broken or damaged case$35
- Replacement of lost or stolen device $725
These fees will be assessed to the family’s FACTS account.
